What would you think I paid for four relics of current or future HOFers, two autos of HOFers, a RC of Sabathia and the GREAT card of Moonlight Graham? (Plus a bat relic of Ivan Rodriguez from his Rangers days.) If I told you $20, would you swallow your tongue? Or would you tell me I'm an idiot?
I didn't think so.
I love the Moonligh Graham card. As most everyone knows, his story is the basis for "Field of Dreams," one of the great baseball movies of all-time. I will devote an entire post to this card and his story later.
Maddux will be in the Hall, Rodriguez probably should be when his time comes, although the steroid thing may bite him, and a Gwynn bat is way cool! But an Enos Slaughter bat relic numbered to 50?!!?! WOW! It was in this toy dealers "afterthought" box, and had a $5 sticker on it. "Sure, I'll take that off your hands!"
Getting a Slaughter autograph, too, well, that's just icing on the cake!
As for the Weaver, I have to say that I am going to start collecting this set, the 1999 Fleer Sports Illustrated Greats of the Game autographs. There is a great checklist for these, including Aparicio, Gibson, Perry and several other HOFers, and I now have a Kaline and Weaver. If you have any that you would be willing to trade, send me an email and we can work out a deal. I have lots of autos and relics for trade - see the link over on the right. Thanks.

that lot for $20 is like stealing. The SI autos are among my personal favorites. and you get a HOF auto in Slaughter.
and a couple of future HOF players too.
Great haul of cards. On card autos too! There is a lot of history in that collection of cards you picked up.
That's interesting about Moonlight Graham. I knew of the Field of Dreams part of it but I didn't know he was an actual real life player.
I want to hang out with you.
Great cards Dan, When are you going to have another group break??
Group breaks are on a break for now. I will take recommendations, though, on possible products.
So I take it the Weaver is not for trade?
Nice haul for $20, for sure!
No, but I might be able to find another one, if you are interested.
Would the Slaughter bat be up for trade?
