I'm Mad as Hell! Part II

Why does ANY card company put autographs in a set that aren't directly related to that set? I might be able to understand a commissioner in a baseball set, or even a President. But what the **@(%#*& does this autograph have to do with anything?!!?

Don't get me wrong. I loved "Stand By Me" and "The Lost Boys" (but not so much "The Goonies"), and it's not personal to Mr. Feldman. However, this is an example of the worst of the current trend toward putting anything and everything into a baseball card set. OK, I can deal with the air guitar champ in A&G, because it is goofy. Even Bigfoot (the monster truck, not the Yeti) is palatable, I guess because it is part of the base set. But this crud? I don't understand how Jawdy gets a kick out of having heavy metal autographs, although I am amused by his reactions to them. If I wanted an entertainment autograph, I would have purchased a package of that stuff. I'm buying baseball cards, I want baseball cards!

I'm mad as hell, and I'm not going to take any more!

Update:
I did not buy this pack of Spectrum. Joshua did! He looked at the Corey Feldman autograph and said, "Who is this?" After reading about Spectrum on various blogs, I decided that I wasn't going to buy any, especially at $7 per pack. I can't believe they sell this junk and get rid of classy, classic cards like Masterpieces! Idiots!

I grew up idolizing Data and his gadgets. The Goonies is a classic!

Why are you buying Spectrum if you don't like the Hollywood autographs? There will be another Upper Deck set with a similar design soon enough. ;)
